Think about it

Some verses of scripture to meditate on

Below are some verses to question ourselves with. Even if you do not think of yourself as being superstitious I would encourage you to think about the questions anyway because they may help you to think about how other people feel. There are many Christians who are living with superstitions in their lives. If you would like to talk further about this topic with  me in confidence I would be happy to hear from you.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.

Proverbs ch3 v5

How does this verse relate to superstitions?

How easy is it to put this verse into practice?

But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves whom you will serve...But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.

Joshua ch24 v15

In what ways are we serving another when we observe superstitions?

If the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.

John ch8 v36

In what ways might some people find being free of their superstitions frightening?

What does being free mean for the Christian?

Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine.

Isaiah ch43 v1

How do we really feel about belonging to another? Do you feel fear? Do God's words, "fear not," help?
