A prayer for a less complicated life

Heavenly Father, Creator of all things,

You have made a beautiful world and a place for me in it. Sometimes my place becomes crowded and I wonder whether I am lost. You have made all things in a correct order but many times I feel out of position. There is neither simplicity in my inner life nor my outer world.

You said, “seek first His kingdom and His righteousness,” (Matthew ch6 v33) yet I am constantly tempted to chase after many other things. I am sorry that I have not put you first.

I open my life to you today and say, “teach me to love you over all else.”

Amen
